Anthropic and Accenture announced on Saturday, October 19, that each company will invest at least $1 billion over the next five years in AI security initiatives, totaling $2 billion.
Integrated team will assess models and conduct simulated attack tests
The agreement establishes an integrated team of evaluators who will collaborate with Anthropic’s internal teams and security partners. Their responsibilities will include examining AI models, conducting red teaming tests to simulate potential attacks, performing alignment tests, and verifying system security mechanisms.
Accenture will form a specialized team with expertise in artificial intelligence, security, and various economic sectors to work alongside Anthropic.
“Security requires both deep technical expertise and a clear understanding of how AI is used in the real world. Integrated evaluation is an emerging field, and we’re excited to partner with Anthropic to accelerate the development of integrated evaluators, which we see as a critical part of the future security landscape,” said Julie Sweet, Chair and CEO of Accenture.
As part of the partnership, Accenture also plans to leverage its AI and security expertise through the acquisition of Faculty, a company specializing in applied AI.
Faculty conducts model testing and evaluation for AI labs and develops systems for sectors such as government, defense, healthcare, and infrastructure.
Marc Warner, Accenture’s Chief Technology Officer and CEO of Faculty, emphasizes that AI system security should be considered from the earliest stages of model development.
“Partnering with Anthropic as integrated evaluators is exactly the kind of work Faculty was created for. As part of Accenture, we now have the platform to execute this on a scale that can truly transform the industry,” the executive said.
